“Here I am walking down 66 …”

I couldn’t find Charley Pride performing “Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone” on YouTube.

But I did find Buck Owens covering it. And that’s Buck’s longtime cohort, Don Rich, playing fiddle and providing backup vocals.

“Here I am walking down 66, wishing she hadn’t done me that way …”

  1. Looks like an old Hee Haw set. I used to watch that just about every week. Those sure are fun to watch…thanks!

  2. “I searched the world over and thought I found true love….”

One of the great performers to listen to while driving down any old two lane is Buck Owens, the founder of the Bakersfield Sound.

Although it didn’t receive much publicity, Dwight Yoakam just released a new album called “Dwight Sings Buck.” He reinvents Buck’s songs, but stays true to his mentor’s muse.

Thanks to Ron for continuing to keep us up on all these Route 66 videos.
