El Trovatore sign tower glows again

The neon letters of the sign tower at the historic El Trovatore Motel along Route 66 in Kingman, Ariz., are glowing again for the first time in decades.

And here’s an image of the tower from a distance; the motel’s main sign (which also was restored) is at the right:

Motel owner Sam Frisher isn’t done, either. According to an email from Hinckley:

Plans in the works include the addition of a neon Route 66 shield to the tower, restoration of the pool, refurbishment of another block of rooms, a gazebo by the tower, and other lofty goals.
