A YouTube poster with the intriguing name of Thirstn How1 uploaded this clip of him rocking out on a four-string cigar-box slide guitar with a Route 66 paint job.

He covers Roger Miller‘s 1965 hit “King of the Road,” with a few licks from Bobby Troup’s “Route 66″ thrown into the mix.

Miller, incidentally, grew up in the Route 66 town of Erick, Okla. The city throws a festival in his honor each October.

Ron, I couldn’t find a Sixty-Six connection but one of the world’s best cigar box guitarists will be in your town when Moreland & Arbuckle play the Shrine on March 14.
