I found these excellent photos along Route 66 near Sitgreaves Pass in western Arizona, near Oatman.
They come from Photoblog 2.0 by Harold Davis, and there are other gorgeous images from the Mojave Desert. Go to the site and prepare to be wowed.
The writing’s pretty good, too. But, man, that photography …
Ron, we are curious about the picture at the top of your blog. Where was it taken?
It’s an illustration, actually. WordPress.com, the program that runs this site, had a series of templates from which to choose. This picture of the tunnel is part of the template. I chose it because it looks very much like the inside of the tunnels in the Arroyo Seco Parkway that I’ve driven in Los Angeles County, which is old Route 66.
Wow, you found that post fast. If I ever get around to scanning, once about ten years back in a fit of adventure a friend and I drove the mother road from Santa Monica to Amarillo. I’ve got some great shots.
By all means, please post them when you get a hand free.
