Big Vess bottle will be preserved

An area north of downtown St. Louis is set to be redeveloped as a residential and entertainment district, called the Gateway Village and the Bottle District. The good news, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, is that the 30-foot-tall Vess bottle in that area, a landmark on Route 66 since 1991 after years in storage, may be moved but will be preserved.

  1. I remember the vess bottle whenever it was on North Florrisant, As a 8 year old child, I never forgot that bottle, We moved in the 1960s and I havent seen it since,,, I am now 56 years old, I would love to see it again. It would bring back many fond memories… I always wondered if there was soda in it as a child. I want my old neighborhood to be like it was before and bring back the “Big Bottle” Rhonda
