According to WTAX radio in Springfield, Ill., a British film crew is filming a segment about Route 66 in the Land of Lincoln. Also, Steven Spielberg will soon start shooting a film about Abraham Lincoln there.
David Knudson of the National Historic Route 66 Federation reports that Joe Bono of the historic Bono's restaurant in Fontana, Calif., is in the process of restoring it to its original look and probably will lease it to a chef.
A Colorado developer plans a huge community of upscale homes and a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course on Ute Lake, about 20 miles north of the Route 66 town of Tucumcari, N.M., according to the San Antonio Express-News. The developer's Web site is here.
