Updated at 12:50 p.m. CST

We've got a few more reviews of "Cars" being posted, some that are a bit mixed:

  • Here's a mixed review from Austin360.com.
  • Variety magazine weighs in with another mixed one.
  • Mypetrock at the Growing Moss blog liked it, but he thinks it's a bit talky for children under 10.
  • Ain't It Cool News correspondent Latauro weighs in with a review that's alternately amazed and disappointed. But another correspondent, Massawrym, loves it completely.
  • Before you despair about those mixed reviews, Ebert and Roeper both gave it a thumbs-up. And at noon Monday, the Critics Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes was scoring at a very high 90 percent approval rate.
  • Salt Lake City Weekly gives the film hearty praise for its heart as well as its technical wonders.

And here are more stories about "Cars" coming down the pipe:

  • Director John Lasseter tells the Sacramento Bee (registration required) how a family road trip changed him.
  • Dark Horizons also interviewed Lasseter.
  • Jim Hill Media reports that "Cars" has to gross $75 million to $80 million its first weekend to be considered a success, and explains why.
