We were at Little Tin Barn near Chelsea, Okla., on Sunday afternoon when we noticed that co-owner Duane Miller had a new stack of Route 66 Pulse newspapers. Typically, I got distracted and forgot to pick one up.
I go to Pulse’s Web site later that afternoon. Sure enough, the latest issue is out in print and online. So get out to your favorite Route 66 haunt and pick up a copy. The contents of Volume 3 include stories about:
- The Route 66 Rendezvous
- Springfield, Ill.’s Route 66 festival
- Victorville’s Route 66 museum
- Flagstaff’s Route 66 Days
- Albuquerque’s Balloon Fiesta
- The Route 66 yahoogroup
- The Midpoint Cafe in Adrian, Texas
- The new Lucille’s Roadhouse in Weatherford, Okla.
- The Canadian Route 66 Association
- Oprah’s stop at Mr. D’z in Kingman, Ariz.
- The Big Daddy meal at Sapulpa, Okla.
- Dawn Welch of the Rock Cafe and her link to the “Cars” movie
- Mine subsidence that nearly destroyed the Green Parrot tavern in Galena, Kan.
And that’s not all.
