Route 66’s midsection is being hit by its third major winter storm in less than two months.
According to the National Weather Service, winter storm warnings have been issued from the New Mexico-Arizona line to just east of Oklahoma City. Winter storm watches stretch from about Tulsa to just west of the St. Louis area.
And in parts of the Texas Panhandle, heavy snow warnings have been issued, with as much as 15 inches possible.
This snowstorm is a particularly galling situation for towns like Vinita, Okla., and Springfield, Mo., which are still coping with power outages and busted trees from last week’s ice storms.
I know a lot of folks who are already ready for spring — even though it’s two months away.
