Ken Rhodes, the decorated Vietnam veteran whose story was recounted here, began his quest to bicycle across the country — much of it on Route 66 — on April 4.
The cross-country ride from Santa Monica to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will benefit muscular dystrophy research and raise funds for Iraq war veterans.
Rhodes’ Web site is here. What’s neat is his bicycle is equipped with a global-positioning system device that tells you on the Internet where he is at all times. For instance, as of early Monday morning, he was in Apple Valley, Calif.
The Victorville (Calif.) Daily Press has posted a video of Rhodes early in his trek.
