I’ve posted this video of the animated neon rotosphere on top of El Comedor restaurant in Moriarty, N.M., on Route 66 simply because I liked it. Travel blogger Ace Jackelope posted it on YouTube yesterday for a future news item.
On a related note, Debra Jane Seltzer of the terrific Roadside Architecture site informs us that the rotosphere in downtown Gallup, N.M., is being restored by the same people in Albuquerque who restored El Comedor’s sign. There’s no timetable on when or where in Gallup the rotosphere will be re-erected, but she promises to stay on top of the situation.
She also has a separate page on rotospheres here; I had no idea there were that many across the country.
Thanks for the plug! You might be interested in this article/video of the Roto-Sphere that was just restored & reinstalled in Lakeland, FL:
