The 37th annual Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting and Crafts Festival in Lincoln, Ill., this weekend focuses on ol’ Honest Abe, but there is something also for Route 66ers, according to the Lincoln Courier:
The Route 66 Heritage Foundation of Logan County will hold a “drive along” tour of Route 66 attractions in Logan County both Saturday and Sunday. All interested parties should meet at the west gate of the fairgrounds in their vehicles. The tour will leave promptly at 1 p.m.
Participants will travel from Atlanta to Elkhart, along Route 66. Geoff Ladd, chairman of the foundation, and Route 66 historian Carl Johnson will be on hand to answer questions. For more information, people can call the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County at 732-8687.
