This is getting to be old hat for the Wigwam Motel, but it recently made the “Our Favorite Novelty Hotels” list for Frommer’s, the well-known international travel guide.
Frommer’s cited the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, Ariz. It said:
As someone who edits a number of travel guides each year, I often find myself wishing I could stay at a particularly interesting or unusual accommodation. From our MTV Roadtrips USA book, I fell in love with the idea of staying in a 1940s-era concrete teepee just off Route 66 at the Wigwam Motel, in Holbrook, AZ (tel. 928/524-3048; www.galerie-kokopelli.com/wigwam; doubles A$54 per night) — which is, in fact, just one of several vintage motels offering teepee or wigwam-style rooms along the Mother Road. And in Holbrook, you can do it for just.
There also is a historic Wigwam Motel, by the same designer, in Rialto, Calif., that was lovingly restored a few years ago and is arguably an equal to the Holbrook Wigwam in quality.
