La Posada chef will publish a cookbook

John Sharpe, chef and owner of the Turquoise Room restaurant housed in La Posada in Winslow, Ariz., announced Monday that he will be publishing a cookbook in October.

According to the news release:

The book will be available exclusively through the restaurant or on our website.

This book will be more than a cookbook.  The format will be a full-size, coffee table book with many beautiful color photographs of the food that guests of The Turquoise Room enjoy, as well as photographs of the hotel. The special recipes I’ve developed over the years for The Turquoise Room, intriguing stories behind the native foods used at the restaurant, and a narrative of the hotel’s history will make this book the perfect souvenir of your visit to La Posada and The Turquoise Room.

The first 1,000 copies sold through the website will be autographed by me with a custom message.  Advance pre-paid orders will be accepted at www.theturquoiseroom.net. We will notify you when we have this in place.  The early orders will be shipped in time for Christmas (more details regarding shipping dates will follow in subsequent e-mails).

An online form to receive more information about the cookbook when it’s available is here.

It sounds like a classy project. But that’s typical for anything associated with La Posada, a historic Harvey House that was lovingly restored by Alan Affeldt about 10 years ago.
