The City of Miami, Okla., and its Convention and Visitors Bureau announced Monday it had received a National Scenic Byways grant of $40,000, reported the Miami News Record.
The money will be used to print 250,000 copies of a tri-state tourism publication that covers Route 66 from Vinita, Okla., to Carthage, Mo. A total match of $10,000 comes from chambers of commerce, visitors bureaus and cities in that area.
Miami is also getting help from the University of Oklahoma Scenic Byways Program and the state Department of Transportation.
