Two Route 66 restaurants in Arizona were named to Arizona Highways magazine’s annual top 25 places to eat in 2009, in its April issue.
One is Twisters 50s Soda Fountain and Route 66 Cafe at 417 E. Route 66 in Williams. The other is Hubb’s Bistro, in the historic Hotel Brunswick at 315 E. Andy Devine Ave. in Kingman.
Twisters owners Jason and Stefanie Moore had no idea it was going to get the award until recently, reported the Williams-Grand Canyon News:
“We had no clue. Apparently they send out a food critic and that would have been some time last year. Apparently they judge on the cleanliness, service and the food served at the restaurant. They judge on those three criteria,” Moore said, adding that he has always prided his business on providing great food and great service to his patrons.
Also, Josephine’s, in the Route 66 town of Flagstaff, made the list. However, its address at 503 N. Humphreys St. is not on the Mother Road.
