Pipes and Sticks on Route 66

A couple of videos have trickled in since Pipes & Sticks on Route 66 — an all-star group of Scottish-style musicians — started a tour of the Mother Road.

Here’s the group at the Survivor Tree at the Oklahoma City National Memorial:

And here’s one of the bagpipers performing AC/DC‘s “Thunderstuck” in St. Louis.

I guarantee this fellow would be popular in Oklahoma City, because the city’s NBA team uses that song as its theme.

  1. John McDonald is the snare drummer in the video clip. He was leading the small group who came through Tucumcari shooting video on March 30th.

    1. Kevin, John McDonald was the director & producer of the documentary film that was being produced. The snare drummer is Jim Kilpatrick, MBE, Scotland. We were honored to have “Pipes & Sticks on Route 66” stop over in Tulsa, OK for a concert on April 10th. They, as you know, are world class pipers & drummers and fine lads all.
