After encountering much success in England, the television series “Billy Connolly’s Route 66” will air starting tonight on the Seven Network in Australia.
This video was posted on The Age, an Australian publication. It includes some footage from the program:
Connolly, a well-known Scottish comedian and actor, and his film crew traveled Route 66 for several weeks in the spring of 2011.
The show was so popular in the U.K. last fall that it’s led to a surge in British tourists on Route 66 in 2012. It wouldn’t surprise me if the same thing happens with Australian tourists in 2013.
“Billy Connolly’s Route 66” is available on Blu-Ray DVD here. The book by the same title can be purchased here.
The show is also airing in Canada this summer on Discovery World. We love it.
