A few British travelers recently completed a Route 66 trip, and this video was posted from it:
The description of the video:
The little town of Erick presented us with one of the most surreal moments of our route 66 road trip. This was in the form of Harley and Annabelle, two crazy hillbillies with an obsessive need to stockpile bric-a-brac and a compulsion to entertain us in their very unique eccentric way.
When i think back to these guys it always brings a smile to my face. It’s people like Harley and Annabelle that are the life blood of route 66 and long may they continued to freak the living pants off us unexpecting travellers thinking all they’ve done is walk into another gift shop. 🙂
“LORDY LORDY. SNAKES ALIVE!!!!”
The video also brings a smile to my face, knowing that the Mediocre Music Makers are performing semi-regularly again after Annabelle’s extensive and life-threatening cancer treatments. She’s still being treated for the disease. But to see her strumming guitar again and smiling behind her hammy husband brightens my day — and, I’m sure, a lot of other people’s day as well.
Those who want to follow Harley and Annabelle on Facebook can go here.
I « discovered » this duo in the superb documentary by Billy Connoly last year. It was, and still is, as I see and hear, a real pleasure. Can’t wait to see them in August!
Now I’m smiling, too!
Smiling here, too (with tears in my eyes).
Ron, do you have a link to share to the trip report written by these travelers?
No. I’ll see through their YouTube account whether they have one.
