Officials broke ground recently on the Silver Moon Apartments on 10th and Central Avenue near downtown Albuquerque, on the old Silver Moon Lodge motel site, reported the Albuquerque Journal.
The $13.5 million project will add 151 units for low-income residents, and is expected to be finished in July 2014. Oregon-based DBG Properties, the developer, is using low-incoming tax credits to erect the buildings.
The apartments will be on the site of the Silver Moon Lodge, torn down two years ago.
A previous report said the Silver Moon Apartments name is nod to the property’s past, and developers will reuse the original neon (seen above) to mark the area.
