Robin Morrow, who already has painted Route 66-themed artwork on walls in Needles, Calif., also is offering to help businesses in town rejuvenate existing artwork, the Needles Desert Star reported.
The newspaper also explained what is planned with the city’s future mural projects:
Morrow was hired by the Needles Economic Development Corporation to create a map of the Route 66-theme murals adorning many local businesses, pointing out where all the murals are and helping visitors find them for photo opportunities. She is also helping with creating a large scale version of that map so it can be displayed on the side of the Needles Chamber of Commerce. […]
Morrow is also working with Jan Jernigan and the NDBA to rejuvenate the “Welcome to Needles” sign on G Street and Broadway. The large rectangular sign on the corner has been discussed by a few groups in recent months as needing a makeover to stand out and actually welcome visitors.
Morrow recently created a mural for Porky’s BBQ Restaurant (formerly the Hungry Bear) that carries a Spanish and desert theme.
But if an existing paint job on a business needs a touch-up, Morrow says she’ll offer assistance on that instead of covering it over with a new mural. She cited the scheme on the Wagon Wheel restaurant as an example of one she’d be happy to restore when it needs it.
