A roadie has launched a FundRazr campaign on Facebook to get The Road Crew music group at this summer’s International Route 66 Festival in Kingman, Ariz.
Rick Zimmer wants to raise $10,000 by April 15 to defray the group’s travel expenses for two performances during the festival on Aug. 15-16. Zimmer explained the campaign:
Due to the miles between Kingman and their hometown in Nashville, TN, we need to get Joe, Woody, Don and Jason on a plane for them to arrive fresh and rested so they can give us that fun, professional show many of us have had the great fortune to hear and enjoy.
Your contribution will go towards such things as air fare, van rental, three nights lodging, and sound equipment rental.
There may be in kind contributions possible such as hotel rooms for all or part of the 4-room/3 nights required. When those become officially acquired, then the goal total will be adjusted to reflect those generous offerings.
The campaign can be accessed below:
In addition to its Route 66-themed release and an album of covers, The Road Crew has performed at other Route 66 events in Amarillo, Joplin, Mo., Cuba, Mo., Afton, Okla., and Galena, Kan.
