The new Topock 66 Resort and Spa in Topock, Arizona, will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 16, according to an announcement a few days ago.
The event also will come with complementary drinks, live entertainment, an appearance by U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar and “other surprises and guests.”
Topock 66 Resort held a soft opening in July 2013 at the old Topock Marina site at 14999 Historic Route 66 in Topock and has hosted crowds of people ever since.
Owner Chet Hitt has spent millions of dollars getting the revamped restaurant and bar next to the Colorado River open, and will reportedly spend millions more for a hotel, spa and brewery. Hitt saved a few relics from the old building and has collected other memorabilia to show off the region’s connection with Route 66 and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad.
Topock 66 maintains an active Facebook page here.
