Lena Turner, who was married to Gay Parita Sinclair station owner Gary Turner for more than 50 years, died Monday at age 72 — less than six months after her husband died.
The Springfield News-Leader posted a full obituary a few days after her death:
She married Gary G. Turner on December 31, 1961 and together they had four children who survive her: two daughters, Barbara Turner and Jeanette Hosmann; two sons, Scott Turner and wife Cheryl and Steve Turner and wife Marcia.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Call and Jerry Call; sisters, Norma Rose Call, Martha Call Waldrop and Jackie Call Evans.
Gary Turner obviously was the beloved figure of the re-created Sinclair gas station on his property west of Halltown, Missouri. But Lena often was there with him, in a quieter way.
A memorial service was held at the residence near Halltown, Missouri, on Thursday. Donations in her memory may be made to Mercy Hospice.
Walnut Lawn Funeral Home and DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory were in charge of arrangements.
We are so sorry to hear that Lina Turner has pass away. We did not hear the news till Saturday evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family
