Two-time Oscar nominee James Woods has been traveling with a buddy on Route 66 since Oklahoma City, based on his Twitter feed.
Here are the Mother Road-related tweets I’ve sifted. The feed is going to be long, so you’ll find it after the jump:

Stayed at the Roadrunner Lodge in Tucumcari NM. As authentic sixties as it gets. Amanda did the decor and David and she run it. A MUST on 66

Damn Shame he didn’t do Route 66 (Historic 6th Avenue) in Amarillo. Would have liked to shake his hand.
I thought that was him that called me a few days ago! My caller ID said “James Woods”. He sounded like THE James Woods but since I’ve never spoke to him on the phone couldn’t be 100% sure. I was about 95% sure. He was looking for a place to stay for the night and I told him I had rooms. I had no guests that night so he and his buddy would have had the whole place to themselves. But he thought that it would be better if they stopped later since they had such a tight time line to get to Vegas. He told me I sounded sweet. I told him I was and that I was a great cook. I regret not telling him what a great place Pontiac was to visit. Maybe he’ll come back another time. I would have loved having him for a guest. He’s one of my favorite actors. He’s also a Libertarian like me. We could have talked politics!!
Think he is originally from Greenup, Illinois
