A major film, “Comancheria,” starring Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine and Ben Foster, is being filmed in and around the Route 66 town of Tucumcari, New Mexico, this week, according to the Quay County Sun newspaper and other accounts.
CBS Films is producing. Here are some of the details from Hitfix.com:
… The film tells the story of two brothers (Pine and Foster) who go on a calculated bank robbery spree that puts them on a collision course with a West Texas Ranger (Bridges) determined to take them down.
The script was written by actor-turned-screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Veronica Mars”). Sheridan’s “Sicario” will hit theaters later this year courtesy of director Denis Villeneuve.

Given the setting of the film, any obvious appearance of Route 66 will be unlikely. A map of the shooting area essentially confirms this:
On Monday, June 1, movie filming will be taking place in Tucumcari. A section of the city will be closed to vehicle…

And the film’s stars already have made an appearance at Tee Pee Curios and Rockin’ Ys’ Roadhouse, both on Route 66.
