To help publicize the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival in Springfield, Missouri, this coming weekend, reporters and crews from the television sister stations KY3 / KSPR in town did a trip on Route 66 to see what’s there.
Nice work if you can get it.
KY3 went from Santa Monica to Springfield, and KSPR went from Chicago to Springfield. In the past few days, they’ve posted live streaming video, interviews, photos and other goodies.
You can get started with this interview with Angel Delgadillo in Seligman, Arizona.
You can kill a lot of time at the main page here.
UPDATE: The story has been updated for a correction on the stations’ coverage.

We didn’t see them on 66 in Amarillo…. Guess Amarillo 66 isn’t important.
Ron, You have it backwards, KY3 is going from Santa Monica to Springfield while KSPR is going from Chicago to Springfield. That’s why Croc hasn’t seen them yet in Amarillo. The idea is to converge in Springfield on the Festival opening. The whole trip is underwritten by Prime Trucking, which is based in Springfield. Check out the website http://www.route66festivalsgf.com for the full slate of events and http://www.ky3.com for the Route 66 trip reports. KSPR is a sister station to KY3. Their reports should be available by link from KY3’s website.
Thanks for the correction, Tonya. The story has been updated.
