Nob Hill unveils centennial mural

Nob Hill doesn’t celebrate its 100th anniversary until next year, but that didn’t stop the Albuquerque Route 66 neighborhood east of downtown from celebrating a bit early with a new mural, according to a report by KOAT-TV.

Stretched across the side of Satellite Coffee, the mural takes viewers on a historical ride though Nob Hill, starting in 1916 on the left and ending in 2016 on the right.

“It’s definitely some fun things about it,” said Aaron Stromberg, the artist. “It references the past history where people moved to New Mexico because of tuberculosis.”

In the center of the painting stands D.K.B. Sellers, the man who founded Nob Hill.

An pet parade and fair are slated for April 30.

A lot more about Nob Hill may be found here, including a mockup of the mural.
