The Tulsa history film “Boomtown: An American Journey” was nominated for an Emmy Award in the historical documentary group in the Heartland chapter.
Russ Kirkpatrick, owner and producer of Kirkpatrick and Kinslow Productions that made the film, said in an email the Emmy announcement was made Thursday:
As you may remember a component of the film includes Route 66 footage and Michael Wallis taking us through its history. […] We are very excited for everyone who helped on the film project which showcases pieces of Tulsa’s history. Without amazing collaborations in Tulsa, we could have never completed the project.
“Boomtown” contains rarely seen images of Tulsa. Wallis is a a Tulsa resident and the author of the best-selling “Route 66: The Mother Road.”
