There are a lot of interesting stories that entertain and educate us about the history of Route 66. We need to document as many of these stories as possible.
I’m looking for information about my grand mother Ida Sengaris. She had a resturant in ash fork in the 1940s or 50s. I would appreciate help finding more about its location and any other facts. I know the resturants name was either Idas Cafe or Cafe 66. Thanks. Susan Gale/Cartney
Fayrene Humes helped create the Ash Fork Historical Society and Museum. Fayrene has been a resident of Ash Fork since 1951 when she relocated to Ash Fork with her family at the age of 13. She is a recipient of the “Heritage Keepers” award from the Prescott Western Heritage Foundation.
Fayrene would possible have information about your Grandmother.
Marshall Trimble a state historian and early resident of Ash Fork. Marshall is the official Arizona State Historian. Let me know if you want me to call Marshall.
