The good folks at the Blue Swallow Motel in Tucumcari, New Mexico, flagged this video the other day on Facebook, saying:
Giacomo and Giulia from Italy traveled Route 66 on their Honeymoon earlier this year, and we were honored to have them as our guests. They’ve just released this fun video of their trip. I think you’ll find it different from most travel videos, with very high production quality, interesting camera angles, and their love for each other and the road is very readily apparent. We hope you enjoy it!
And here it is:
Route 66 – Coast to Coast from giacomo on Vimeo.
You’ll see a few familiar faces on the Mother Road, along with side trips to Monument Valley, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Death Valley.
Longtime readers may have noticed I don’t post as many videos on this site as I did years ago. It’s not because I don’t want to; it’s because the internet now is flooded with videos of all types from Route 66.
When Route 66 News started in 2005, YouTube was only a few months old, and online videos from Route 66 were of low-resolution and dicey quality. But I put them out there, simply because there weren’t many of them.
Now almost everyone has access to high-resolution cameras for a few hundred dollars, plus professional-grade editing software and equipment. Videos from Route 66 now are better, and Route 66 News now only posts the best or most newsworthy ones.
The internet has matured.
