A little tinkering under the hood

This is the time of year, during the tourism off-season, when Route 66 News needs to do some updates in both its page content and its digital motor.

So if you see something a little odd here or there, it’s just me … tinkering under the website’s hood. Nothing drastic will happen, but these efforts are being done to improve the site’s performance.

Also, I need to ask favor. I’m updating the Calendar of Events for 2017. If you know of a big Route 66 event, shoot me an email at route66news(at)yahoo(dot)com or leave something in the comments field. Please provide the dates and a link to the event.

I try to be thorough in researching for these events and festivals, but a few always fall through the cracks at Google and Bing.

The Dining, Attractions, Bars, Motels and Campgrounds listings may be updated as well. If you look through the listings and find something missing, drop me a line. I try to list mom-and-pop places that are on or very near the Mother Road and have some historical or unique hook for travelers.
