A reader across the pond alerted me to this two-part, French automotive program about Route 66.
The special production is by France-based Turbo magazine. The production’s focuses mainly on classic cars and hot rods, but you’ll find plenty of history and roadie lore, including Muffler Men.
As you’ll find, it is in French. But the production values appear high, and I doubt the fact it’s non-English will keep you from following it or detract from your enjoyment.
Each episode is nearly an hour long, so settle in (Note: the play button in the center of the screen doesn’t work terribly well; you’ll probably have to click on the lower left corner to get it to load and play):
Part 2 focuses on the western half of Route 66, including a memorable ride with Bozo’s souped-up Bel Air station wagon in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a nice bump in French tourism because of this program. It happened with Britons after the “Billy Connolly’s Route 66” series.
(Hat tip to Phil; screen capture in Missouri from the Turbo Route 66 special)
Route 66 is simply World Class.

I was thinking the same thing as I read this. Just amazing.
