David Clark, aka the Windy City Road Warrior, on Saturday will lead InSites to Go’s Saturday Night Sunset tour on Route 66 between Joliet, Illinois, and Chicago after the Route 66 Miles of Possibility conference in Joliet concludes.
According to a news release from InSites to Go, which is a Chicago-based tour agency:
The tour features many Route 66 sites, including Buckingham Fountain, Union Station, Castle Eden, the Castle Gas Station, and dinner at Dell Rhea’s. We anticipate it will be a small group, just right for kickin’ back and enjoying the Romance of the Mother Road. Our driver will pick up the group from the Joliet Area History Museum and return them there at the end of the evening.
Tickets may be ordered through this Facebook page. Tickets are $36 piece, or $66 for two. They can be ordered up to early afternoon the day of the tour.
More about the Oct. 19-21 Route 66 Miles of Possibility conference in Joliet may be found here.
Clark years ago established himself as the premier authority about Route 66 history in the Chicago area. He published a book, “Exploring Route 66 in Chicagoland,” that remains the definitive work about the Windy City and Route 66.

Thanks for posting this, Ron. Our tour went very well, and we had two people on the tour who came along specifically because they saw this post on Route 66 News.
