The historic Woody’s Diner along Route 66 in Miami, Oklahoma, is for sale for $330,000 as a turnkey operation.
“We get a lot of calls on it, but most people want to rent the building, and she wants to sell it,” said broker Harrell Post of Post Properties. “Maybe with the right person and the right offer, she may consider renting.” […]
“It was very happening and very busy,” Letson said. “We only served breakfast and lunch. We were open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It was a fun environment because I got to know a lot of the locals. I intended to reopen it after we closed because I know how much it means to the people in Miami, but it just didn’t pan out.”
Letson also is selling an adjacent Greyhound bus station, which last operated as a music store, for $70,000.
The bus station contains a key link to the restaurant:
The original owners of the diner, Mr. and Mrs. Proctor, named it Woody’s, and served breakfast and American-style lunches. Letson said the Proctors built the restaurant to accommodate passengers who were waiting for rides at the nearby bus depot on Steve Owens Boulevard.
“The Greyhound bus stop was there before the restaurant, and a gentleman who owned it decided people needed a place to hang out when they were on layover,” Letson said. “He put in the restaurant in the 1930s.”
