The owner of the Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios on Route 66 shop in Tulsa has opened an Airbnb in a century-old house directly behind the property.
It’s called Buck’s Cosmic Crash Pad on Route 66. The 1917 three-bedroom house goes for $137 a night.
A description from the listing:
Experience a one of a kind “living gallery” where most of the artwork is for sale. Every room has a Roadside Attraction or Neon sign view from the windows. This is the perfect place for your adventure on The Mother Road, a stay-cation, or to celebrate that special occasion in style! Nearby attractions include Downtown Tulsa, The Gathering Place, Philbrook Museum and more!
Our space is a living gallery. The artwork and countless accessories inside are for sale. See pricing cards at our location for details. We offer a fresh way to experience Historic Route 66, shop for local art, and experience unique souvenirs inside your airbnb!
I asked the owner, Mary Beth Babcock, about her getting into the lodging business. She replied in a text:
I’ve had my eye on that home for a while and always envisioned how neat it would be to have some sort of extension of Buck’s behind the shop! The opportunity presented itself and we are now opening Bucks Cosmic Crash Pad through AirBnB! Part of the Route 66 experience is where you stay! There is a room with a view out of almost every window! Our Buck’s on 66 Neon, Buck Atom’s backside, a giant Welcome to Tulsa mural and the historic Meadow Gold Neon sign.
