The Standard Diner closed Monday after 14 years along Route 66 in Albuquerque but will be converted into a Range Cafe later this week.
The Albuquerque Journal reported the restaurant’s conversion into a Range Cafe will be complete by Friday.

Popular menu items from the Standard Diner will remain, as will its staff.
Range Cafe has two other locations in Albuquerque and a third in the nearby suburb of Bernalillo. Range Cafe also operated the restaurant at La Castaneda Hotel in Las Vegas, New Mexico, for a while.
The Standard Diner originally was built as a Carothers & Mauldin Service Station that sold Texaco gas and General tires. It became a classic-car dealership in 1991 before its conversion into a restaurant.
