The RoadTripOK crew this week posted its final video from a yearlong weekly series of attractions in Oklahoma, including several along Route 66.
Two of the destinations are in the Route 66 town of Oklahoma City: the Oklahoma State Capitol Tourism Information Center, which has many Oklahoma travel souvenirs and free travel brochures and maps, plus the new Scissortail Park.
The hosts tell their favorite places from the 52-week journey and talk to Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell, who leads the state’s tourism department.
Oklahoma Tourism and Broken Arrow-based Retrospec Films announced last fall they would launch a year-long series of weekly films about various road-trip destinations, including Route 66.
Among the episodes that focused on the Route 66 towns of Oklahoma City, Claremore, El Reno, Yukon, Elk City, Weatherford, Hinton, Stroud, Depew, Arcadia, Miami and Tulsa can be viewed here. It’s part of an effort to raise Oklahoma’s tourism profile.
