A new, 22-foot-tall Muffler Man fiberglass statue was installed Tuesday at the Uranus Missouri complex in St. Robert, Missouri.
The statue is called Mega Mayor, a likeness of Uranus Missouri owner and self-proclaimed mayor Louie Keen when he’s duded up in his American-flag-inspired costume.
Mega Mayor, which holds a large golf ball in one hand and a soon-to-come putter in the other hand, will lord over the forthcoming Putt Pirates miniature golf course.
Here are some images and a video of Mega Mayor from Uranus Missouri’s or Keen’s accounts on Instagram or Facebook:
Keen announced the creation of the Muffler Man in October.
Muffler Men have seen a resurgence along Route 66 in recent years, including new ones erected at Buck Atoms Cosmic Curios in Tulsa, Route 66 Food Truck Park in Springfield, Missouri, Frecs in Galena, Kansas, and a restoration of one at the May Cafe in Albuquerque and at the Launching Pad Drive-In in Wilmington, Illinois.
In other news, Keen announced Saturday he bought the chicken car that stood at Cookin’ From Scratch in Doolittle, Missouri. He said he’s taken the vehicle to a mechanic to get it running again. It had sat in front of the restaurant for more than a decade.
Cookin’ from Scratch closed this month after more than 20 years along Route 66.
Uranus Missouri is most famous for its Uranus Fudge Factory and General store — along with its unapologetically juvenile humor that springs from its name.
Uranus Missouri also contains an escape room, ice cream and funnel cake store, Chicken Bones bar and grill, sideshow museum, ax-throwing venue and an outdoor outfitters shop. A microbrewery also is in the works.

Uranus…Get it?
It’s too bad Muffler Men are doomed to only hold mufflers. They should have made molds for some alternate arms.
Any word on where the Muffler Man came from?
Who made this Muffler Man, or is it a refurbished Muffler Man?
