The organizers of the Route 66 Road Fest scheduled on consecutive weekends in June in Oklahoma City and Tulsa announced this week they have placed tickets on sale.
The festival was scheduled for mid-2021 but postponed a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The fact tickets now are available shows the growing confidence the pandemic is ebbing. Indeed, cases of the virus have been dropping for several weeks.
Each ticket provides access to its indoor Classic Car Show, its outdoor Cars & Coffee show, an interactive Journey Exhibit that depicts Route 66 through the decades, local and national live music artists that will be announced soon, vendor booths, immersive family fun zones and more.
The Oklahoma City part of the festival will be at Bennett Event Center on June 18-19. The Tulsa version will be at Expo Square on June 25-26. The American Automobile Association in Oklahoma is organizing both.
Ticket prices are $20 for those age 18 and older, $10 for 12- to 17-year-olds, $5 for 5- to 11-year-olds, and free for children under 5. Tickets for Oklahoma City are here; tickets for Tulsa are here.
Proceeds are slated to help fund the Route 66 Revival Fund to pay for signage, beautification, walkability, street lighting, bike lanes, historical markers, restrooms and other amenities along Oklahoma’s Route 66.
The Revival’s website also states it could help support the preservation of the original route and encourage new businesses, such as motels, shops, diners and other roadside stops and attractions.
UPDATE: Vendor booths are available for the festival. For more information on those, go here.
