The Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway recently announced it was about to publish its first-ever magazine, Illinois Route 66 Special Edition. The byway also will publish a 2022 Illinois Route 66 Visitor Guide.
The cover of the magazine, as you can see above, features the Gemini Giant at the Launching Pad Drive-In restaurant in Wilmington, Illinois.
The byway stated in a Facebook post that Illinois Route 66 Special Edition magazine would be chock-full of stories about the Mother Road in the Land of Lincoln:
Watch our Facebook page, website and Amazon; our publication will be available for purchase in the coming weeks for just $19.99 and all proceeds benefit the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway & its members!
In a news release Friday, the byway stated both publications, which have been designed by ROUTE Magazine, will be available in March.
The Illinois Route 66 Special Edition publication is a one-of-a-kind, full color, content-rich collectible publication. Within these pages, you will travel through iconic Route 66 cities in Illinois, visit nostalgic attractions and hear stories from interesting people along our historic road. Illinois Route 66 Special Edition will be available on Amazon and via the NEW store on the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway website (illinoisroute66.org).
The 2022 Illinois Route 66 Visitor Guide targets tens of thousands of travelers directly interested in traveling the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway. The guide is distributed through a comprehensive network, including Tourist Information Centers, regional Convention and Visitor Bureaus, local tourism offices, as well as attractions along the Road. The print guide will be distributed free of charge and available by digital download on the website. The 2022 Illinois Route 66 Visitor Guide is an attractive full-color, magazine-quality publication that fits in beautifully with our new re-branding campaign.
The size of the guide is new for us as well: 5.625 inches wide by 8.625 inches in height. The visitor guide will not only assist our traveler along our stretch of the road, but it is bound to become a collector piece.
