The Hi-Way Cafe near Vinita, Oklahoma, on Nov. 5-12 will attempt another Guinness world record with the most stickers placed on a car.
The Route 66 restaurant on Friday posted on Facebook that it needs some help with the attempt:
We are now looking for volunteers for two very important roles. We need:
1) People to place stickers on the car AND
2) People that can serve as official witnesses for this event.
Everything will be provided, all we need is you!
Everyone who participates will also receive a digital certificate as a memento of our amazing accomplishment.
The world-record attempt is part of Mobil 1’s “Keep Route 66 Kickin'” campaign. The other Guinness records were set at the Snow Cap Drive-In in Seligman, Arizona; at the Clowndog Hot Dog Parlor in Albuquerque; and at the Sky View Drive-In theater in Litchfield, Illinois.
Mobil 1’s Muffler Man has been parked at the Hi-Way Cafe’s lot since late October, as these photos from Facebook show:
The Hi-Way Cafe, which has been in the region since the 1950s, recently found its way into the news: It received a cost-share grant from the Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program to restore its historic neon sign.
