Aussie devours Big Texan’s 72-ounce steak dinner in the second-fastest time ever

At least he got it for free.

An Australian competitive eater recently gobbled down the Big Texan Steak Ranch‘s 72-ounce steak dinner in a little less than 6 1/2 minutes, according to WFAA-TV.

However, James Webb’s effort wasn’t a record.

Nebraska competitive eater Molly Schuyler (who weighed only 120 pounds) inhaled the enormous platter in 4 minutes and 18 seconds in 2015. To top it off, she ate three of those dinners in 20 minutes.

But Webb received the meal for free — as does everyone else at the Amarillo landmark who eats the 72-ounce steak dinner in less than an hour.

The Big Texan posted a short video of Webb finishing off the meal:

Only about 10% of those who attempt the Big Texan challenge accomplish it. It costs $72 if you don’t.

The Big Texan Steak Ranch started on Amarillo Boulevard (aka Route 66) in Amarillo in 1960 and advertises its Mother Road roots often.

After Interstate 40 opened in the early 1970s, the Big Texan picked up and moved there to ensure its survival.
