Sam Allen, who first created the “Route 66 Party Guide” book and a website nearly 10 years ago, recently updated his book and has beefed up his YouTube channel.
He stated in an email that the third edition (Amazon link) is in paperback, hardcover and e-book versions.
The book has been completely updated. There are over 250 high resolution photos plus links to the YouTube channel. In the e-book, the links are hot, so readers can click on the links and go straight to the videos.
The YouTube channel has nearly 100 videos in over a half dozen Playlists. Some of those videos include songs about Route 66 I wrote, and I sing them wearing various costumes. I don’t think there’s anything like this elsewhere in the internet.
The Roku channel is populated with the YouTube videos, but some new original content is planned.
In a follow-up email, Allen said the book’s turn-by-turn directions also have been updated and are collected into one chapter.
