A few days ago, Ruben Castelo Moure of Spain emailed me, letting me know he had created a music video for his power pop band, Maryland, that takes place in varying spots along Route 66.
“Last year I went on a honeymoon trip to the US to travel along Route 66 for a month and I took the opportunity to record a video clip of my group,” Moure wrote, “… and we just released our new album. Take advantage of the trip and record a loving video about Route 66 … I hope you like it.”
I liked it a lot, even if I don’t speak the language he sings. Here is the video:
Moure added in his email: “Thank you for preserving all the history you have in your country … even though I am not a North American citizen, I researched a lot and it helped me learn more about the people of the Route and their history.”
More about Maryland can be found on its Bandcamp site.
