Buck Atom statue in Tulsa will have a companion sometime next year

It appears Buck Atom has a girlfriend.

The namesake fiberglass giant at Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios on 66 in Tulsa will have a companion statue coming sometime in 2024.

Mary Beth Babcock, owner of the souvenir shop at 1347 E. 11th St. (aka Route 66), announced last week that Stella Atom, a 19-foot-tall space cowgirl, will be commissioned and placed there. It will be fashioned partly out of a Uniroyal Gal model of Muffler Men.

To help finance the project, Babock has launched a commemorative brick-buying campaign that will use those bricks around the base of Stella.

Bricks must be purchased by Dec. 31.

The 21-foot-tall Buck Atom statue, also custom-made by Enchanted Castle Studios, was dedicated at the shop in 2019 with much fanfare. It was the first new Muffler Man in decades.
