The Phippen Museum, in honor of the Phippen’s 50th-anniversary Western Art Show & Sale, will present “The 66 Kids Road Show” on May 24 with Western artist and True West magazine‘s Bob Boze Bell at the historic Elks Theatre in downtown Prescott, Arizona.
“The 66 Kids Road Show” will premiere songs and stories about “Two-Lane Tales” and growing up on Route 66, the Mother Road.
Bell and Stuart Rosebrook also will share stories about the heritage of Western art in Prescott, including stories about George Phippen, Gail Gardner and the Cowboy Artists of America.
The show serves as a launch party to celebrate the publication of “The 66 Kids” by Bob Boze Bell and Marshall Trimble, which will be available at the show for the first time.
Rosebrook, editor of True West and the new executive director of Sharlot Hall Museum, will emcee the show, which also will feature Route 66 expert and author Jim Hinckley and the music of the Razz Band and Danny Romero.
The event is free. The show starts at 6 p.m. on May 24.
If you can’t make it, Bell said preorders for “The 66 Kids” book will be taken at the66kids.com.
Bell published the original “The 66 Kid” in 2014. The Route 66 News review of that book is here.
