The History Museum on the Square in downtown Springfield, Missouri, later this month will present a new exhibit, “Checking In: Route 66’s Iconic Hotels & Motels of Greene County.”
The exhibit will tell “the stories of iconic lodgings along Route 66 that shaped our region, from charming cabins to landmark hotels.”
It begins June 19 and will continue through Sept. 8.
“We’re excited to highlight the unique stories, landmarks, and family-run businesses that define the hospitality industry of Route 66 history,” said Sean FitzGibbons, executive director at the History Museum on the Square, in a news release.
The exhibit will be part of normal museum admission. It’s the third of five installments about Route 66 in the area.
