A very old and long-closed cottage-style gas station building along Route 66 near Niangua, Missouri, earlier this month was being moved a few miles west to Marshfield, where it will restored and turned into a photo opportunity.
The Webster County Route 66 Initiative reported that Gary Dill donated the building for the project.
The building reportedly will be placed on Route 66 in Marshfield, close to the Hidden Waters Nature Park and the Webster County Fairgrounds.
According to Route 66 Times, the building dated to 1925 and was situated a few hundred feet east of the Niangua River bridge on Highway CC (aka Route 66).
A photographer on Pinterest claimed the station was a Phillips 66.
