While the design of the bedrooms is rooted in Route 66 nostalgia, they also feature modern amenities like walk-in showers, Grown Alchemist toiletries, smart TVs, and Tivoli Bluetooth speakers. […]
“Trailborn Grand Canyon is on Route 66 in the heart of Williams, Arizona—a town with so much character and history—and it’s the perfect jumping-off point for an incredible Grand Canyon adventure,” says Mike Weiss, co-CEO of Trailborn, in an interview with T+L.
The Williams hotel is Trailborn’s fifth property, which also is associated with Marriott.
Route 66 Times reports that the hotel’s address at 642 E. Route 66 has included a lot of lodging establishments over the years, most recently a Red Roof Inn Plus.
It started as the Clark Camp in 1933, then the Grand Canyon Camp in the mid-1940s. It became the Thunderbird Inn by 1957.
In the 1970s, it became a Ramada Inn and later the Mountain Side Inn and Conference Center.
